The Virtues Of A Good CEO

1. A good CEO is like a ship's captain who captains his ship 
    from the deck of his ship, not from shore via satellite     
    link or such.

2. A good CEO treats his subordinates as equals, each with 
    his own job responsibilities, not as servants, butlers or 
    slaves.

3. A good CEO always has time to listen to the problems of  
    his subordinates no matter how busy he might be.    

4. A good CEO never treats his office as an extension of his   
    home regardless of the time or day.

An Odd Couple

There used to be a time when holding a pen or pencil came naturally. Nowadays, as it has been the case for, well,  a long time already, doing so was a conscious effort involving only the thumb and index finger, and a tight grip.
Oddly, the left hand didn't have this problem, only the right, the holding part, that is.

A true story.

I am a cat owner who's familiar with the smell of cat urine which incidentally is strictly not tolerated inside the house, both cat urine or its smell.

One day, many years ago, I came back from my evening run and suddenly detected the strong, familiar smell of cat urine in the kitchen area, or what I assumed it to be. Immediately, I began searching for where it was coming from, usually a puddle of cat urine on the floor somewhere although I can't remember if there were toilet-untrained kittens around at that time that might very possibly have been the culprits responsible.

When I reached the area where the fridge was, I looked underneath for signs of cat urine but found none. Impulsively, I opened the fridge door, and lo and behold, there inside it were durians.

At this point it was clearly an open and shut case and the investigation was pursued no further.

A Prayer

“O Lord, whenever I am celebrating Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays and so on together with family members or friends and all of us are having a wonderful time, please grant that I may spare a thought and offer up a prayer for all the mothers, fathers, birthday boys or girls and so on in the world in destitute  or less fortunate circumstances who are struggling to survive, let alone find the means or the reasons to celebrate such occasions we normally take for granted lest I become blind or indifferent to the sufferings of the destitute or the less fortunate. Lord, hear my prayer.”
